Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, participants will have gained a solid understanding of the key elements associated with the design, operation and troubleshooting of boiler and cooling water unit systems. This will include the impact of source, feed quality, operating conditions and unit design. In addition they will have gained some valuable insight into how to optimise, debottleneck and troubleshoot their boiler and cooling water systems. As an example within cooling water the three areas which most typically impact on exchanger reliability:
- Exchanger stress (skin temperature, velocity, heat flux)
- Key parameter control variation (cycles, pH, PO4, FAC)
- Process leaks
The program is designed to allow those in attendance to closely interact with the instructors and the other participants to share knowledge and techniques for refinery water treatment applications.
